Make sure you layer up after your treatment, as your body temperature can drop during and after a massage.
Drink plenty of water or herbal tea to flush the toxins through your system and keep hydrated. Try and avoid caffeinated and alcoholic drinks, as these are toxins.
Try to keep your meals light, healthy and easily digestible.
If you must exercise, keep it light and try to avoid strenuous exercise for up to 24 hours afterwards.
Try and keep all activities after treatment relaxing and stress-free.
If you feel tired, an early night and plenty of rest will do you the world of good.
The massage has now kick-started your body into regenerating cells, repairing tissue and muscles, flushing away toxins, encouraging oxygen, blood and lymph circulation and plenty more benefits to say the least.
Everybody’s reaction after treatment is different, however if you do experience any of the following do not be alarmed, as they are totally normal.
Tiredness, stiffness or aching muscles
Feeling deeply relaxed
Feeling sleepy, may experience a deeper sleep than normal
Feeling energised
Heightened emotions
Increased thirst, urination, bowel movements
Blocked or runny nose
Mild nausea
Headache
If you experience any of the above, they are temporary and should disappear within 24 hours. However if any do persist, please seek medical advice and ensure to notify me too so I can update your records.
Your skin can still be sensitive hours after treatment, even if you have received this treatment before, so please read the following advice to ensure you do not experience an adverse reaction.
Up to 24hrs after treatment avoid the folllowing to the area:-
Refrain from touching the area
Avoid use of perfumed products
Avoid applying make-up
Do not use soap or similar products
Do not sunbathe or use sun-beds
Do not use aromatherapy oils or massage oils
Do not shave, wax or use depilatory creams
If any irritation occurs, apply after-wax cream or an antiseptic cream. However, if problem persists, please visit your Pharmacist.
